Moon Lotus Entertainment was founded on the idea of making stop motion animation.
Stage
The studio has a small stage built for holding character armatures at 1/6 scale. It has custom built cameras jibs, tracks and sliders so that progressive images can be captured at very precisely measured and controlled increments. These are mechanical verses computerized to minimize cost while retaining repeatability.
Cameras
The cameras are Canon bodies with Nikon lenses, an industry standard for stop motion, to isolate the aperature from the automatic functions of the camera. Follow focus systems are used as focus control for precision and repeatability; even rack focus is possible.
Software
The industry standard for stop motion, Dragonframe is one of the best tools out there for stop motion. The Adobe suite helps finish off the movie making process.
